In version 0.2.42.0 we will introduce the first iteration of hunger for wild carnivores. We will start with a few creatures that already have other modded systems, and if everything works out more will be added over time.

How does wild Dino hunger work?

As this is only the first iteration there may be some tweaks in the future, but for now here’s how it works:

  • Only wild carnivores are affected.
  • Within 30 minutes a Dino goes from fully sated to fully hungry.
  • At 50% food the Dino behaves like they do without the hunger system. Higher food levels make them less aggressive, lower food levels more aggressive.
  • When killing a creature the killer’s food level increases, depending on the relative sizes. E.g. a Carno needs roughly two Stegos to go from 0 to 100% food level, while a Dilo will be sated after eating two Dodos.

What creatures will be affected?

The first creatures to get the new hunger system are:

  • T. rex
  • Carno
  • Raptor
  • Microraptor
  • Dilo
  • Direwolf
  • Ichthyornis

Once we figured out the configuration baselines we will add more creatures over multiple patches.
